Taking Flight

She left last night on her first solo adventure. I received an early morning text saying she was through security and boarded; now she is somewhere between LAX and Boston where she will connect and head north with passport in hand.

This Olivia-girl graduated high school last month. She has earned herself a bonus semester to travel, to experience new challenges, to enjoy life, and to prepare for a new season of education in the fall. We are immensely thankful for this girl, proud of her accomplishments, and anticipatory of what the Lord has planned for her!

    Wow, this is so exciting and a little bitter-sweet only in that I am sure you love her company! The "new normal" may feel weird for a bit, but I love how even that affords new opportunities for growth and deepening relationships.

      Ha! I think I may have given the wrong impression... She is traveling for two weeks only (this particular trip), not the whole semester. She has an internship lined up after that and several other projects for the semester. Then it's TMU in the fall!
